Changes to Scottish Leasing Regulations

9/27/2018

Adam Turnbull, our Kirkcudbright office Partner, and Romana Russell, our Dalbeattie office Property Assistant, have recently completed the National Approved Letting Scheme Foundation Lettings course and are registered in the new Scottish letting register.

The provisions of the Letting Agent Registration (Scotland) Regulations 2016 came into force on 31st January 2018. These regulations changed Scottish Letting law by requiring Scottish firms or companies, who are involved in lettings and property management, to be registered in the new Scottish letting register, and to appoint designated qualified managers.

Gillespie Gifford & Brown LLP are well placed to guide you through the residential leasing process from advertising your property for let, to advising on the Landlord Registration and Tenancy Deposit Scheme to drafting the Lease documentation itself. We can also draft the required paperwork to bring an existing tenancy to an end. Our experienced staff are always on hand to offer sound and practical leasing advice.

Please do not hesitate to contact any of our Solicitors for information or advice.
